Safkhan has over 17 years of diverse experience in consulting and representing clients ranging from locally based investors through multi-nationals and state agencies on various legal and tax issues.
Prior to establishing SSH Tax & Legal Solutions LLP, Safkhan has worked as a Legal Director for a large private equity fund in Kazakhstan, which had Goldman Sachs, Mittal Investments and several high net worth individuals as partners.
More than 10 years of his career Safkhan has worked for international law firms (Baker Botts LLP) and legal practices of "big four" consulting (PwC, KPMG and E&Y) in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom and over 5 years as a general counsel in industry/private equity funds.
Safkhan's principal areas include financial and corporate law, real estate, M&A support, and tax structuring.

- Advised Dentsu Aegis Network in connection with acquisition of majority shares in Kazakhstan companies of media planning
- Advised Tenova / Techint Group on Kazakhstan legal issues in connection with acquisition of Bateman Engineering
- Advised Qatar investor Al Jasra Global Real Estate in connection with the share acquisition in owner company of the St.Regis project in Astana
- Advised Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the share sale of Azercell mobile operator for the foreign investor as part of privatization
- Advised Globalstar large international satellite operator on Kazakhstan legislation matters
- Advising Inditex and Zara Holding B.V. group of companies in relation to acquisition of the Kazakhstan distributor Zara, Bershka, MassimoDutti, Stradivarius and Pull & Bear
- Representation of the buyer’ interests in acquisition of Tenge field
- Representation of the buyer’ interests (Sumeru Gold BV) in acquisition of 50% shares in Altynalmas Gold
- Representation of the seller’ interests in transaction of selling 100% shares for the benefit of Russian public company Polymetal
- Advised Samruk Energy in connection with acquisition of the equity capital Ekibastuz LLP
