Advising Samruk-Kazyna JSC on alienation of shares of NAC Kazatomprom JSC for the total amount of USD 128 billion 28 September 2019

Zan Hub jointly with Latham & Watkins (London) LLP  provided legal advice to Samruk-Kazyna JSC (the Fund) on all aspects of English, US and Kazakhstan legislation regarding the transaction on an accelerated bookbuild secondary placing of securities, upon completion of which  the Fund sold 9.8 million global depositary receipts, representing common shares of National Atomic Company Kazatomprom joint stock company (KAP), constituting approximately  3.8% of the issued share capital of KAP.
Global depositary receipts were placed through the London Stock Exchange facilities pursuant to its rules and regulations and the Astana International Exchange (AIX), operating under the framework of Astana International Financial Centre.
J.P. Morgan Securities plc “Halyk Finance” JSC and Renaissance Capital acted as joint bookrunners.
The transaction is the first transaction in Kazakhstan on placement of global depositary receipts through accelerated bookbuild secondary placing process.
